In spring and summer, the streets
of Daunia assault are taken by centaurs. Indeed, lovers
of the two wheels located on Promontory everything a
motorcyclist want the highway as travel: adventure and
excitement.
The first route starts from Manfredonia and arrives in
Vieste, following the old road to Morning (SS89), which
does not provide for the transition to the gallery, but
the first diversion tunnel, and then proceed to the head
of Gargano choosing to remain on the coast -- quite busy
- or opting for the road, which crosses the Umbra Forest.
For those who did not want to go up in Vieste, there is
an alternative route, with breathtaking views, and is
what connects morning at Monte Sant'Angelo, used in
recent years for the rally, Gargano: 20 km of twists and
turns between falling mountains overlooking the sea.
Another location to be achieved, if only to experience
the thrill of rock desert, it Rignano Garganico, whose
hills represent the privileged observer of Tavoliere
throughout the province. From Foggia SS16-San Severo,
turn at the fork to Rignano. And then on to the wide
bends up to the summit.
In primavera e in estate, le strade della Daunia sono
prese d’assalto dai centauri. In effetti, gli amanti
delle due ruote trovano sul Promontorio tutto ciò che un
motociclista desidera dalla strada intesa come viaggio:
avventura ed emozione.
Il primo itinerario parte da Manfredonia e arriva
a Vieste, seguendo la vecchia strada per
Mattinata (SS89), che non prevede il passaggio per la
galleria, ma la deviazione prima del tunnel, per poi
proseguire verso la testa del Gargano scegliendo di
restare sulla litoranea - abbastanza trafficata - od
optando per la strada interna, che attraversa anche la
Foresta Umbra.
Per chi non avesse voglia di andare sino a Vieste,
esiste un percorso alternativo, con panorami mozzafiato,
ed è quello che collega Mattinata a Monte Sant’Angelo,
utilizzato negli anni scorsi anche per i rally del
Gargano: 20 km di curve e tornanti tra le montagne che
cadono a picco sul mare.
Un'altra località da raggiungere, se non altro per
vivere l’emozione della roccia desertica, è Rignano
Garganico, le cui alture rappresentano il punto
privilegiato di osservazione del Tavoliere nell’intera
provincia. Dalla SS16 Foggia-San Severo, si devia
all’altezza del bivio per Rignano. E poi su per gli ampi
tornanti sino alla cima.
